This row of shops are on the site of Francis Crittall’s first workshop. The hoist is preserved , top right of the picture.
Later it all became part of the ironmongeryshop Crittall and Winterton, with a Bank Street front entrance, and a wholesale area at the rear, leading on to the former Sandpit Road.
