File metadata
Crossness is the southern outfall of Bazalgette's London sewage system. Opened in 1865 by the Prince of Wales, it is currently being restored by local enthusiasts and holds open days for the public. It was built in an elaborate Victorian style, has been described as the Cathedral of the Marshes and is much in demand by film companies.
