Aug 2022: The Millennium Clock Tower was erected to mark 2000. It is on the "Five Ways junction" which although now pedestrianised could have been regarded as the Town Centre until the 1970s/80s. There were subterranean pubic toilets, a taxi rank and a small terminus for Green Line buses many of which went to Sevenoaks and some of the smaller rural villages. The much larger fleet of Kent & Sussex buses did not use the stand. The Clock Tower was controversial when it was erected but the residents have probably now come to accept it.
